Newton County Sheriff Keith Slape said that an accident on C. R. 58 resulted in the death of Diane Smith, 29, of Vendor. Smith was east bound on CR58 and lost control of her 1998 Ford Explorer. Investigating Deputy Charles Moore said the vehicle rolled three times, ejecting Smith. She was transported to North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison where she later died. Her 12 year old son and infant child was also in the vehicle. The 12 year old was also transported to NARMC. Also assisting in the investigation was Cpl. Michael Thomas of the Arkansas State Police.
